About Me
At age I 12 picked up a guitar and fell in love with the instrument. I began with an obsession with Metallica and related bands, which really inspired me to play along and learn that genre of music. That later evolved to a big interest in classical and jazz music as well as an interest in music theory. I believe the pitfall of a lot of musicians learning music theory “limits” you as a musician, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Whether you want to write, play in a band or just noodle around there’s a spot for you!
I have studied under Mark Simons of the San Francisco Guitar quartet from 2008 -2010 and completed the music program at Diablo Valley College in June of 2010, which includes extensive coursework in Music theory, Piano and Guitar. Since 2011 I have been a Jazz Guitar Performance Major at Cal State East Bay where I will complete and receive a BA in music.
