The Voice of Chicago
By Becky S. - Chicago Voice Teacher
If you’re reading this, you must: a) have an interest in music and b) live in or near Chicago. Luckily, we live in one of the largest cultural hubs in the country and boast one of the richest, most diverse music scenes in the world, which makes voice lessons in Chicago a truly unique experience.
No matter what kind of music you love most, Chicago is brimming with live, high quality performances of every kind. If you love classical music, you can visit the Lyric Opera in the historic Civic Opera house and see and hear the greatest living operatic artists who come to perform here year after year. During Lyric’s off-season, you can head to Millennium Park to hear the Grant Park Music Festival’s incredible chorus (of which I’m lucky enough to be a member) and orchestra free of charge while you picnic on the lawn.
Chicago is famous for its jazz tradition, and many of the genre’s leading musicians can be found here. If you are a fan of Broadway, head down to Chicago’s theatre district, or explore the neighborhoods for hundreds of smaller theatre companies with young, budding talent. Chicago hosts many outdoor summer music festivals such as Lollapalooza, Pitchfork, Blues Fest, and Jazz Fest. In September, Chicago hosts the world’s largest World Music Festival, during which you can attend performances by incredible musicians from all over the world.
While opportunities abound to see professional musicians perform here, there are also countless opportunities for amateurs and beginners to show their stuff. So, after just a few voice lessons in Chicago, you too can get out there and perform. Sign up for singing lessons in Chicago today!
