I did a Professional Studies Certificate at Manhattan School of Music as well as a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Montreal, in Canada.

I have had some good reviews, including a recent one, where I was called a “[standout]” by the Boston Globe for a performance I did with the Handel and Haydn Society. Some of the concerts I've done this year are Boismortier (A French composer from the 1600's) Op. 5 “Spring” with a Boston group called "Les Bostonades", Bach's Magnificat at Symphony Hall with the Handel and Haydn Society, and performing the role of Eurillo in an opera by an Italian composer named Cavalli, with a small Boston based opera company callled "Helios Early Opera".

Last year I also sang in some interesting concerts like singing solos in a piece by George Friedrich Handel called "Israel in Egypt" with a big choir from Canada called "the Richard Eaton Singers", I sang the main role in an opera performance with the Harvard Early Music...

A Boston native and recent UMass Amherst graduate, Alec has played and performed music for most of his life. This multi-talented, vibrant, up and coming artist has performed around MA as part of several ensembles. Most notably, he spent 4 years performing with locally award-winning and notorious get-down-and-party band Kids on a Hill (an Amherst-based neo-funk band in which he played the alto saxophone,) and UMass Amherst’s Doo Wop Shop a cappella group, whose Disney Medley currently has 3.5 million views on YouTube. Alec is currently living and performing in the Boston area as a solo singer-songwriter and front man with his new Indie-Pop band, A Little Backwards.

I am a very unique and inspiring individual. I have found that I live and breath music all day through my day to day life. I am an entertaining person who loves to use my own inspirations to teach others and help them find passion though music. My students learn just as much from me as I learn from them. Learning is a two way street. Music can bring our ideas to life and we can learn about the world and ourselves through this wonderful art form.

Though I am a trombone player, I do have many experiences singing and learning how to teach vocal lessons through my training at UMass Lowell. I am passionate and will research with students to figure out their interests and strengths then work on them together. Here is my musical resume.

I am a multi instrumentalist and professional musician of over a decade- and would love to teach you everything I know! I have been studying music for over 12 years, through school and college, on my own, and with private instructors including Chris Parello, Mike Orenzoff, Norma Hooks, and Buddy Charleton. I consider my main instrument to be guitar- I have been playing for about 12 years, and am comfortable in just about any professional situation on my instrument. I play lead guitar, rhythm, and we can go over many techniques and subjects to help you become more versatile and well rounded: including ostinato picking, slide/open tunings, improvisation, and composition.

I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a B.M. (Bachelor of Music in Applied Piano(Performance Degree). I also attended Eastern Nazarene College, where I received a Massachusetts state certificate to teach.
I've taught classroom music in public schools in Templeton, Boston and Somerville, Massachusetts, as well as Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I also have experience teaching private piano in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
I have taught private piano to a student in Athol, Massachusetts who continued on to Berklee College of Music, where he graduated.
I am a singer/songwriter/keyboardist who has 2 albums out, appeared on Comedy Central, MTV, on ABC National Television, and "The Jimmy Kimmel Live Show." I was on National Public Radio(NPR), on the BBC in London, England and my song "In Canada", which is covered by another music group "The Suspects" is featured in a film, "Montana Amazon" starring Haley Joel Osmond, Alison Brie and Olympia Dukakis.

I started studying classical piano at the age of 6 and continued through high school before going on to study with Robert Shannon at Oberlin Conservatory, where I majored in music history and theory (as well as English and creative writing - I've always had a lot of interests!). I also sang in choirs from a early age, including my high school's Madrigal Singers, the MMEA Northeast District Chorus, and the Oberlin College Choir, a select group which performs regularly with the Cleveland Orchestra. After graduation, I tried out a variety of musical activities, including singing with a semi-professional a cappella group, None of the Above, and appearing in local community theatre productions. But I finally realized that I'm most comfortable behind a piano, whether playing and conducting for musical theatre, coaching singers, writing music for youth productions, or teaching the next generation of music lovers how to navigate the keys. And while I perform mostly Broadway-style music...

So let me tell you a little bit about myself. I've been drumming since the age of 14 when I was a member of the world renowned drum & bugle corps the 27th Lancers from Revere Massachusetts performing in front of audiences of 10,000 and more.

Through the years I've performed on drum set in many styles and genres. I started performing locally as part of the thriving early 80's Boston music scene and most recently I was a founding member of the popular all acoustic Beatles tribute band Glass Onion. In between there have been many projects in many different styles.

I have studied at Berklee College of Music under the tutelage of internationally
known drummer Larry Finn. I'm currently completing the Specialist Certificate in Drums program at Berklee.

Hello! I am a professional working drummer with over 20 years of performing and teaching experience. My current band, Eight To The Bar, has been the winner of Best Band Connecticut for the past 5 years straight. We perform internationally in many venues, including festivals, casinos, and concert halls. The repertoire is diverse and challenging, drawing on the traditions of R&B, Swing and Motown.

All my life I have played and been around music. My father is a professional guitar player that works at the esteemed Berklee College of Music. So ever since I was young music has always been apart of me. I started learning piano at the age of five so that I could get a good sense of theory at a young age. This has encouraged me to teach my students about the importance of not only playing music but learning the theory behind it. After taking private lessons for about four years on the piano I decided I wanted to explore other instruments. At this time I started taking lessons from a Berklee graduate pat loomis, learning the saxophone. There has always been a drum set in my family’s house but around the age of eight I fell in love with the drums and made that my priority to master them. I am a certified high school teacher who enjoys teaching people of all ages to play the guitar and bass. In addition, I have a masters degree in music from Bates College. My educational philosophy is to focus on the goals of individual students and then develop lessons and practice routines to help to achieve these goals. I am most proficient in rock, blues, folk and jazz styles but I have an open mind and I am willing to help you tackle any form of music. I have been playing the guitar since 1995 and the electric bass since 1999, I am very easy to get along with and I am sure that I will be able to help you become a better musician. I previously played guitar with the Ska band Mrs. Skannotto (2000-2003) and bass in various rock bands.

25 Year old music grad student. Started teaching in Los Angeles then moved business back home to Boston. Has been teaching piano, violin and viola since 2008.

In 2012, I graduated from Brandeis University with a degree in Music. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with highest honors in music. I also received the Reiner Prize in 2010 and 2011, an award for the best student composition of that year. I'm currently pursuing an M.F.A in Music Composition/Theory at Brandeis, which I will complete in the spring of 2014. Additionally, I've had the chance to study individually with world renowned composers: Melinda Wagner (winner of the 1999 Pulitzer Prize in music), David Rakowski, Eric Chasalow, and Yu-hui Chang. Over the past 5 years, I've had consistent private composition lessons with these 4 teachers. They've filled me with their wisdom, and I want to pass it on to you.
