About Me
Dear Students and Parents,
I have been playing guitar for over 30 years. I played in various rock bands for fun growing up and then developed a passion for acoustic finger-style guitar playing and songwriters like James Taylor. While still in high school, I opened a concert for Livingston Taylor (James’ brother). After high school I decided to pursue my passion for guitar in college and received my Bachelors degree in Classical Guitar Performance studying with Robert Guthrie at Southern Methodist University. I also love to write music so after graduating from SMU I went out to Los Angeles and worked in the film music industry at Warner Bros. Studios for many years. I’m now working at MakeMusic, Inc., a world leader in music technology whose mission is to develop innovative solutions that transform how music is composed, taught, learned, and performed. I currently play electric and acoustic guitar in the worship band at Westwood Community Church. We cover many different styles...
