I'm currently a professional drummer working in the Long Island area now for 13 years.
I starting playing drums at the age of 13 while playing and studying the trumpet at the same time. I can read drum, trumpet and piano notation.
I started teaching drums in 1996, and enjoy the aspect of enlightening my students to the amazing world of drumming.
My lessons are broken down with a focus on the basics, which includes rudiments, reading, assisting in school band study. While also keeping the student engaged with applying these skills in compliment with music they enjoy listening too on a daily basis.
My lessons for students will include what it takes to become a working drummer both on a local level and professional level.
I hold degree in Business Management and have studied drums with famous drummers like Bobby Rondinelli, Frank Marino as well as local teachers such as Gary Worrell and Jerry Ricci.

I have over 16 years of teaching private piano, I bring my passion for classical, Christian, gospel and old fashioned good music to you. I have worked from the elementary school level to the college level. Therefore I have patience for a beginning student to the young at heart student. I make music fun and easy to learn by simplifying goals and techniques.

I am a NYS certified teacher who has been teaching in the school system for over 17 years. I hold both my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Music Education, and the guitar was my major instrument in college.
I have taught guitar in a group setting as well as individually in a private setting. I teach both right hand and left hand technique, including proper pick control, and finger-style. I teach music reading, theory and ear-training within my system of guitar-training.

I was born on December 15, 1965. My father Al was a prominent drum teacher on long Island who taught hundreds of people throughout his career. My musical background started with going on jobs with my dad from the time I was five. I would always sit right behind his floor tom. He took me to almost every gig he did. I began sitting in as much as possible and played my first paying club date at nine years old. He entered me in the drum corps where I learned a lot about playing with other drummers and also entered me in various drum competitions. I came in first place in the state for the Louie Bellson National Drum Contest when I was 11 but failed miserably when my sight reading was not good enough to get me to the next level. I worked real hard to get my reading up to par after that.

I maintain a very active performing career and a private voice studio on Long Island and in Manhattan. I was on the faculty of New York University in the Music and Music Professions Department for 5 years and was Music Director and Vocal Coach for an innovative new rap opera, "Odin" in Spring 2006 at the Fred Lowe Theatre.
I was also a coach in the Banff Centre's 'Voice through body and movement' workshop with international artist, Richard Armstrong and served two years as a voice instructor and guest lecturer at the Banff Centre for their young artist training program entitled 'Opera as Theatre'.
Throughout my career as a vocal coach, I have worked with many cabaret artists as musical director, arranger and accompanist. Most notably, Debbie Boily's "Thank You for the Music"a one woman show with me at the piano, recorded live at Ovations in June 2004 Houston, Texas and subsequently performed in France, England and New York. I began singing before I could even walk. I started choir when I was eight years old and never left. In high school I was part of the auditioned jazz choir, Soprano I section leader, assistant vocal coach and vice president of the TRI-M music honor society. In my senior year I was president of the drama club and played Mrs. Potts in "Beauty and the Beast". I have performed several times in the All-County chorus as well as at the Kennedy Space Center and Universal Studios in Orlando. Now I am a Music Education major at Adelphi University where I participate in the Opera Workshop! My students always come first and I strive to give them everything they need to succeed as musicians.

She started taking music lessons from her mother at the age of four and learned to read music at the same time she started to read storybooks. ​From the age of ten, Hopengrace took violin lessons, during her parents' rare furloughs, from Mr. Frederico Regner, a World War II veteran returned from the United States. While in the Philippines for a combined year of junior and senior level high school, she took violin lessons from Mr. Marc Hamlet Mercado and Mr. Rodelio Flores. My name is Nicole D. I have over twenty years of teaching experience and began classical piano training at the age of 8 years old.
As a student, I participated successfully in yearly NYSSMA and National Music Guild competitions and recitals.
In college, I was the recipient of the first Ralph V. Ritchie Memorial Music Scholarship at Nassau Community College.
As a member of several original bands, musical projects and solo performance acts, I've played the piano/keyboard, wrote music/lyrics, sang lead and backup vocals or did a combination of the above.
During this time I worked closely with other advanced teachers and musicians to gain other methods, styles and techniques of music.
I'm patient, creative, positive and fun to work with and really enjoy teaching. I'm passionate about passing my love of music along to my students.

I graduated with my Bacholers in Music and Pyschology with a focus on opera voice in 2009. In my performance program I really grew as a vocalist and learned how to overcome my own obstacles and improve my vocal technique for myself. I feel confident now in sharing my experience and my education with my students so they are able to really grow and improve as well. I started professionally and privately studying vocal technique when I was 17 and prior to that I was performing musical theater in school and in community performance groups. I started playing the drumset at age 12, and have been playing for 20 years, and teaching for 5 years. My drum playing covers many different styles including Rock, Jazz, Funk, Punk, and my favorite, Progressive Rock. Soon after I started playing drums, I played in my high school jazz band, orchestra, and marching band. I have been playing ever since and still love it 'til this day.

People have told me that I am my biggest critic, and therefore, I am always trying to find ways to improve and reinvent my style and approach to playing and teaching drums.
