Subjects Taught

Classical Guitar, Guitar, Music Performance, Music Recording, Music Theory, Songwriting

About Me

I started learning piano by the age of 4. Started composition by the age of 5. At the age of 12, I started guitar and never turned back. Music was always the ULTIMATE escape. To me there's nothing that compares to the feeling I get after completing a song, or the rush of a good performance. I decided that I'd rather do nothing else in life but music. After high school I went to the famed Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA., where I was taught by the most amazing musicians I've ever known. Some of the teachers who influenced me were Dan Gilbert from the Guitar World magazine, and David Oakes who trained with Andre Segovia (famed classical guitarist). My influences are a wide range. I love any music with shred guitar. Anything virtuosic is what I love. I enjoy playing everything from Latin, classical, blues, all the way to heavy metal. I have a lot of on stage experience that has served me well, and my mission is to give back the inspiration that has been my love for music.

*** Lesson Details ***
The most important thing with any instrument is that you're enjoying what your doing. If you're not having fun with guitar, then you're probably not going to stick with it. I teach beginning to advanced guitar and my students really enjoy the lesson plans. My lessons vary from student to student depending on what they want to accomplish, and what they need to succeed. After the student reaches a certain level I get them to play with other musicians. Sometimes I'll bring in my drummer and hop on the bass so the student can get the feel of playing with a full band! I expect a lot from students and they seem to have no problem delivering,

*** Studio Equipment ***

I want each student to feel excited and energetic about there lessons. In other words, I want them to have FUN!!! If at anytime that is not happening I want the student to let me know, because that is very important to me. I want our relationship to be open and as honest as possible, because that makes me a better teacher and helps them learn better. My goal for the student is that they learn all the skills needed to then teach someone else and to continue to teach themselves without me. I believe that a great teacher teaches the student how to be independent from them, not to stay dependent on them! This takes time, but I hope every student will someday achieve this goal!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano

*** Specialties ***
I can sing and teach in multiple genres.

About Me

I knew I wanted to play guitar 23 years ago when I was just a child of 5 years. I started 5 years later, in 1995. Since then I've been studying and learning about music and the guitar passionately. I took four years of private lessons at my local music shop and learned all the essential tools one needs to grow as a musician. After those lessons, I continued to study online and with instructional books, dvds, magazines and also went to my favorite bands' concerts to stay inspired and motivated. I joined my first real performing band almost six years ago, and since then have been having the time of my life playing live and growing as a musician, guitarist, band member, music lover, and teacher. I have worked very hard to be at the current level I am at and you will see results in your playing if you book lessons with me.
A typical lesson with me will include a lot of information exchange. I am mindful to keep you motivated and inspired to continue on with the guitar despite any frustration or roadblocks you may encounter along the path of becoming the best musician you can be. I have plenty of patience with my students and it is my #1 goal to make sure that you achieve your musical goals; whether that be to play your favorite cover tunes, write your own songs, jam with some friends on the weekend, or play live in a working original, cover or tribute band. I can teach you how to write and play songs, perform with a band, become a cleaner more efficient player, execute your musical ideas onto the fret board with precision, improvise with other musicians and much more.
