Lou S. Surprise, AZ

About Louis

My name is Lou S., and I come from a family of Drummers. My Father was a Master Drum Instructor and taught my Uncle, Brother, me and over 2800 other students in a teaching career that spanned more than 40 years. As the youngest in the family I had the opportunity to learn from my Dad as well as my other family members. My structured lessons started at the age of 5 and by the time I reached high school I was booking my own band and performing weekly at local clubs and events. There was a certain amount of pressure growing up in this environment. After all, if you’re the teacher’s kid, you’re expected to be good, right? This is true, but the way my Father taught and how he inspired me was to be sure I had my own identity. He was not making clones, he was teaching the ART of ...

Passionate about drums; reflected in his teaching

Lou took me by surprise after the first few lessons. His preference is to teach the foundation and basically build up from there. This sort of put me off at first because I wanted to learn a specific genre without all the extras that I thought I didn't need. Fortunately, he was able to help me understand that by learning all of the simple rudiments, I can play anything I want. Now, I haven't reached that stage yet, but I have no doubt that I can get there with Lou's help.

Clarinet Lessons

I went to Mr. Masiello for clarinet lessons for years in high school and he has always helped me achieve making regionals every year, making state my last year in high school and consistently holding my first chair in the school band. Although, I did not pursue a career in music, he still had influence on where I am today [DVM in June 2014]. And for that I will always be appreciative. Mr. Masiello is an exceptional teacher and a very amiable individual.

Great Teacher

I have been taking lessons with Tony since 2009 and I have seen nothing but improvement in the way I play. I saw my biggest improvements when I would audition for the regional band. My score increased each year. I went from 560 my first year to 915 out of 1000 my last. You will not be disappointing when you will take lessons with him. You will continue to grow if you follow his lessons.

Adult Beginner

Dr. Masiello has great patience for a beginning adult. He was able to bring me up to a level where I was able to play with my local community band and not feel embarrassed. He pays attention to details that others would miss. I recommend him without any reservations.

Nanette G. Tolleson, AZ

About Nanette

I started studying piano and singing from a very young age. I used to make my friends come over and watch me perform (karaoke style--before karaoke was big) when i was in the 4th grade. My greatest love is music, performing music, and sharing it with others. As a singer i have studied all types of music, but my favorite- and what i excel at- is opera. I have taken private voice and piano lessons constantly since the age of 5, and have studied opera performance and music theory in college. I perform locally around the community as a singer, direct the church choir, and occasionally accompany soloists on the piano. I have taught private lessons in voice and piano for 5 years and i greatly enjoy the one on one experience of teaching private lessons. *** Lesson Details *** I

Jeffrey O. Phoenix, AZ

About Jeffrey

My Price: There are a lot of people on this site who teach lessons; I've looked through profiles...and their prices. Many of them do not have degrees in music and/or their lessons are expensive. I am a professional musician and educator with the lowest rates I can afford. My pricing is low to be competitive and does not in any way reflect the quality of the lesson. I believe good lessons should be affordable to everyone at a weekly basis. My Teaching Experience: I have taught general music K-8 in a charter school and basically had to build a music program with no funding and almost no supplies. I left this job in favor of teaching privately because the staff and administration were horribly disrespectful and unappreciative of what I did for their school. Teaching privately ...

Dr. Jeff has helped bring music back in my life. I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano and had been trying to teach myself because of my past experience (played trumpet from elementary school– 2 yrs of collage). Learning that way was not ideal though and I was really not progressing at all. I finally decided to start lessons and I can’t tell how grateful I am that I did. Dr. Jeff has helped me learn and practice correctly and I really feel that I am progressing well. I am having so much fun learning and playing.

I have been bringing my daughter to the piano lessons of Jeff for the last six months. I've seen my daughter able to follow his instructions and accomplish the lessons, but most important is the fact of seeing Jeff focused in passing the information to her each lesson. She can be talkative and distracted at her early age, but he has managed to get her attention well. Jeff has shown me his commitment and engagement to his teachings, his patience with my daughter and someone who is not rushing every lesson. He has been always flexible to my schedule, very professional and his prices are very good compared to other options.

My 8 year old granddaughter had been taking lessons for approximately 3 years from a teacher she/we loved ♡ so changing instructors was not something we wanted to do. Jeff has been awesome! Patient does not truly describe his personality :) Our family is extremely pleased with her new level of excitement and commitment for the piano...what a blessing finding Jeff has been. Thank YOU Jeff!
