Music is my passion, my hobby, my career and my gift. I have been performing since age 7 and teaching for the last 25 years. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in music and love to share my knowledge and experience with all ages and aptitudes - even special needs. My approach to teaching is fun but serious, laid-back but encouraging, demanding but forgiving. I teach students how to be disciplined with their practice and how to make the most of their limited time.

I have a degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance. I am also a singer who loves to share my talent with others. I have been singing since I was 3 or 4 years old. I am a proud teacher in a primary school and a voice instructor to others during my other time. I have worked with individuals and large groups over the 10 years I have been teaching. Teaching from a young age has helped me developed to be a better teacher, communicator, encourager and coach. When I have a goal, I set a realistic objective that helps me to accomplish my goal effectively. I love what I do and I strive to help others be great at what they do!

Ali has had music in her life since she was in the crib. She has performed professionally in the musical theatre world and she has studied in several universities for Musical Theater, Jazz, Pop, Blues, and R&B. Since the age of sixteen, she has been selected to sing as a guest soloist for venues such as Spivey Hall, Georgia World Congress Center, and Georgia Tech Hotel Conference Center. Ali has also sung for many movies and recordings, and recently recorded a demo for David Foster, Barbra Streisand, and Andrea Bocelli and recently toured as a pianist for "The Women of Ireland." She is a recent graduate of Berklee College of Music and earned her BM in Music Business and Vocal Performance cum laude studying under Magi Scott, Jeff Ramsey, Jerome Kyles, and Carolyn Escoffrey, Donna McElroy, Livingston Taylor, Joan Lader, and Charlie Sorrento.

Started playing music when I was three. Violin Piano and Guitar, but by the time I was seven I knew Guitar was my forte and I put all of my energy into that. I come from a very musical family. My father was a successful jazz/blues performer and my mother a classically trained viola player, my aunt an astounding pianist. Music was always around and from a very early age I learned the language of music at the same time as learning to read and write in my native tongue. When I was about ten years old I started putting together more professional sounding bands and playing small gigs, usually opening up for my dad's band and his friends bands but we had a ball playing music together. Hello and welcome!!! I'm a 29 year old percussion instructor at Clark Atlanta University. I've been teaching private lessons in the metro Atlanta area since 2008. I teach every aspect of percussion from marching to concert and even drum set. World percussion is also included!!! I hold a BS in music from Bethune-Cookman University and a MM in percussion performance from Georgia State University. I promise my students a fun and relaxed environment where they can discover new avenues in their playing and push beyond what they thought wasn't capable of them.

MY PHILOSOPHY

My number ONE goal as a private lesson teacher is to ensure that my students reach their maximum potential. I refuse to let one student slip through my fingers as far as technique and overall familiarity with their instrument. My plan is for the high school orchestra directors, who will reap the benefits of my original instruction of their orchestras, to thank me every year.

I have eight years teaching experience and have a bachelors in guitar performance. I attended AIM on bass guitar and have been playing for eighteen years. Through my education and experience I have had success in teaching the fundamentals and getting my students up to speed by teaching technique and strong music fundamentals. I studied classical guitar and composition at Asbury College and later more in depth guitar studies rock, jazz, and classical at the Atlanta Institute of Music.
