About Me
I am currently enrolled as a Music Education student at Temple University. I am due to graduate in Spring of 2013. I have taken percussion lessons from age 8 to present (I am 22). This includes studying classical percussion (marimba, xylophone, snare drum, timpani, cymbals, bass drum, tambourine, and triangle) with Phil O'Banion, Michael Hinton, and Sue Jones, drum set from Sebastian Guerrero, Sean Dixon and Sue Jones, and jazz vibraphone from Tony Miceli. I have a basic knowledge of Brazilian rhythms and Afro-Caribbean clave based rhythms used in salsa music, and how they apply to congas, timbales, bongos and guiro. I took classical piano lessons from age 7 to age 13 from Lois Didomenico and Barbara Rottenberg and still take occasional lessons to refine my skills, though most of my playing is in pop, jazz, and modern church settings rather than classical.
