I recently graduated from Illinois State University as a double major in Music Education and Violin Performance this past December. Currently I am a substitute teacher for Maine Township District 207 and I private lesson instructor. I have played with many orchestras and groups including; the Classical Symphony Orchestra, Protege Philharmonic, Muscatine Symphony Orchestra, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University Chamber Orchestra, Northwestern University Community Orchestra, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and many smaller ensembles. I am still currently playing violin with the Classical Symphony Orchestra and the Protege Philharmonic.

My name is Daniel. Composition is my major area of expertise and my major instruments are jazz piano and voice. I currently attend Vandercook College of Music due to the fact that it is a specialized school strictly devoted to music educators. Beyond its capacity for being used as entertainment, music aids in learning, helps develop advanced motor skills, increases memory function, and many other purposes for a well rounded education. It is my goal to help educate the next generation in traditional music practices as well as incorporate new techniques that are relevant to our current day and age.

For more than half of my life I have been dedicated to the world of drumming. I have been active in a wide variety of style from a very young age. In the year 2000, at the age of 15, I competed in the world pipe band championships in Glasgow, Scotland, with the Chicago Higlanders Drum Corps. Scottish snare drumming is a unique and challenging style of rudimental snare drumming. All through Junior High and High School, I remained active in many different ensembles. I was active in the marching band, symphonic band, jazz band, pit orchestra, and often played auxiliary percussion for the vocal ensembles.

I have performed professionally on stage and in the studio for over 20 years. I studied music with a double major in guitar and bass guitar. I also play flute and keyboards. I began my musical training at 10 years old learning how to play guitar. I have a deep love for music and began to teach what I know to others and found that teaching music is very rewarding. I like to help others discover the joy that comes from learning and playing a musical instrument.

I am great with young students just starting out and make sure that learning their instrument is a fun experience. With teenagers and adults, I not only teach guitar methods, but also the basic principles required to "jam" with other musicians. Blues, Folk,Acoustic, funk,ska,Rock, Metal, Melodic, Country, Classical, Punk, Alternative, and various other melodies. I have played concerts all over the state of Illinois and I have taught many students throughout the years. I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced players. I am very passionate at what I do and I will guide you through the proper steps in becoming a great guitar player. Elizabeth has taught violin and viola for twenty years. She has a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance from DePaul University School of Music. Her teachers have been among the best in the world. She has been a member of orchestras, chamber music ensembles, and has performed solos throughout the United States and abroad. Teaching is one of her greatest passions, and she welcomes the opportunity to work with all ages and levels of musical background.

I’ve been teaching professionally to students of all ages and levels for over 10 years throughout the Chicagoland area. I have been playing for about 19 years. Music is my passion.
