Shayna is a percussionist who was active in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years before moving to Brooklyn, New York. Shayna has worked as a teacher of percussion, piano, music theory and history for over five years and has a great deal of experience working with children, high school students and adults. She performs classical, contemporary, avant-garde, rock and pop, among other genres in the US, Japan, and Europe. She has recorded for many accomplished composers around the world and she is an active member of various ensembles and bands both in New York and the Bay Area.
Graduating with honors in both music and mathematics from Mills College in Oakland, CA in 2007, she studied percussion under William Winant. Music has been the core of my life since I started playing the piano by ear at age 10. I took lessons with a local teacher and played in rock bands through high school. I went to the Berklee School in Boston for 2 years after playing professionally after high school, then transferred to Rutgers University, majoring in Jazz and Classical Piano. While in college I started playing for Dance Classes, which became full time for 10 years. I then moved to NYC, freelancing as a touring and session musician. Now I want to give back what I have learned.

I have been playing piano since I was a young child and have always had a passion for music. I apprenticed in China under a master piano teacher for 15 years and then immediately started performing in many different venues. 14 years ago, I started teaching piano and have enjoyed sharing my love of music with others. I am very patient with students and am very open to the type of music they would like to play. From pop music to classical, beginning to advanced, I am well versed. If there is a specific piece you want to play, I can fit it to your level. In my lessons, I try to make each experience meaningful and joyful.

Originally from Toms River, NJ, Matthew is an educator and freelance musician in the Tri-State area. Matthew received a bachelors degree in music education from The Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University) and is completing his masters degree in music performance at New York University.

Matt has studied piano since the age of seven, covering both classical and jazz/pop genres. While at Rutgers, he played with graduate-level Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble and Opera Orchestra. He has played with various orchestras in Avery Fischer Hall, Symphony Space, NJPAC, and the Kimmel Center (Philadelphia). He has studied with leaders in oboe performance (Matthew Sullivan, Jonathan Blumenfeld, Nathan Hughes, Geoffrey Burgess) as well as classical and jazz pianists (Karina Bruk, Andy Milne).

Matt lives the Financial District of Manhattan, teaching both at home and on the NYU campus.

Jessica’s comedy and ideas are inspired by being the oldest of 6 girls and growing up in a small town in Maine, where she taught Sunday school and counseled teens and tweens in a local after school program for four years. When Jessica was 19, she moved to Philadelphia to study animation after winning a scholarship to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and relocated to NYC shortly after graduating.

I am a graduate of the University of Miami's Frost School of Music, where I received a Bachelor's of Music in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal Performance. I have extensive studio and recording experience, as well as over 10 years of professional performance experience in the jazz, pop, classical and folk genres. I have been playing piano since age 8, and can not remember a time when I wasn't singing! I also perform regularly on guitar, and am an active and enthusiastic champion of singer/songwriters of all levels and genres.

A busy professional drummer/composer, Sean has a Bachelor of Music from the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music and also plays piano, bass and guitar.
Only 27, Sean has launched an impressively diverse career, crossing over musical worlds to perform with jazz artists such as Maria Schneider, Dave Douglas, Shelly Berg, and Alan Pasqua to rock veterans Warren Haynes of the Allman Brothers, George Porter of the Meters, Michael Shrieve of Santana, Jerry Harrison of the Talking Heads and Greg Ginn of Black Flag. He also tours and records with contemporary pop outfits Francis and the Lights, Shenandoah and the Night, and 2AM Club.

I am a freelance violinist residing in New York. A New York native, I attended the Pre-College Division of the Manhattan School of Music. I am also a graduate of New York University, where I completed my Bachelor of Music degree in String Performance. I have appeared in both solo and chamber settings at venues such as Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall, Symphony Space, the Tenri Cultural Institute, Galapagos Art Space, Le Poisson Rouge, the Flea Theater, and Steinway Hall. I have also played in master classes given by violinists Aaron Rosand, Hyo Kang, and Arnold Steinhardt of the Guarneri String Quartet. My playing has taken me to Spain and Peru, where I accompanied NYU’s Artists-in-Residence ensemble, Combo Nuvo at the Jazz Perú Internacionál Festival.

My love for the piano started at a very young age. I have been studying the piano for over 18 years and teaching for 10. I have extensively studied classical music, Persian music, advanced music theory, music history, and composition. I have been a recipient of several scholarships to various music programs and festivals, including the Schlern Music Festival in Italy in 2008.

After studying with a world renowned pianist and teacher, I received my Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University in 2009. I have recently moved to New York City from the Washington DC area, where I taught both privately and in group lessons for nine years. I have experience teaching students of all ages and skill levels. Prior to my move to New York, I was also the pianist and choir director at a church for four years.

Music will always be the strongest passion in life and I hope to continue sharing my love for music with students for many years to come.

I'm a seasoned guitarist with over 15 years playing and 9 years teaching experience. I have a Bachelor of Music from NYU, I am Manhattan based and have a multitude of both live and studio session work experience. My studio experience includes having worked with notable producers, doing sessions for a variety of musicians and doing music for advertisements. My performing background includes having played guitar for various rock groups throughout the country at famous venues including The Bowery Ballroom, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Gramercy Theater, 9:30 Club, Electric Factory, Orpheum Theatre Boston, The Roxy and festivals such as Lollapalooza, SXSW and CMJ. I've also written instructional articles for Premier Guitar magazine.

I'm a professional musician and audio engineer. I'm a classically trained pianist and I offer lessons in piano, music theory, music recording, music performance, songwriting and voice.

I received my music education from The Brooklyn Music School, Cornell University and the The Institute of Audio Research.

I perform in cover bands as a keyboardist and back up singer. I also do work for hire session recordings and have composed music for commercials and short films.

As an audio engineer, I record, mix, edit, arrange, master and program demos, EPs albums, mix-tapes, karaoke tracks and ringtones. I also produce as well. I co-own a project recording studio in Brooklyn, NY called Radian Studios.
