About Me

Hey! Thanks for clicking my link to learn more about me :) I am a professional guitarist (for 11 years) and drummer (15 years), as well as audio engineer (5 years), and music teacher (5 years). Music is my passion and my life, and aside from playing it, I truly enjoy teaching it to all ages and levels, and aim to make my lessons as fun and easy as possible. The way I see it, music is an art – meaning there’s no wrong or right way to do it! (As long as you’re having fun while you learn, that’s all that matters!).

I am self-taught myself and get a real joy out of teaching others how to play. I’d like to say that my passion for music started when I first picked up a set of drum sticks, but I really think it started before I even knew what a “drum set” was. I used to stare at the television in awe and watch how the musicians played their instruments so effortlessly, and wanted to learn more about their world. About Me

Music holds a very special place in my heart. Since I was young, I always had a profound interest in it. Throughout my years of becoming a musician, I traveled many paths and enjoyed a wide variety of music along the way. This included what was popular on the radio when I was a kid, and of course the music of video games that I played growing up.

As I picked up the guitar, I started to get into more styles and genres. I developed tastes for jazz, blues, soul, rock and metal of all kinds. I soon joined a thrash metal band and began composing music. Not long thereafter, I found myself helping out in a guitar class at school--and there began my teacher career! Now I'm teaching for over a decade.

Over my years of teaching, I have encountered countless students who had major breakthroughs, not only in their playing, but in the way they see themselves. Many of us short change ourselves, and fail to see our own potential.

Music is therapeutic to my soul and essential to my everyday existence. Absorbed by it, I dedicate most of my energy toward creating, writing, and playing music. I am here to help you to do the same. I am fortunate and grateful to have worked with many of the world's most amazing and creative performers, artists, composers, and producers.  Because of this, I've learned to appreciate a diverse range of musical genres, while showing no bias toward any one musical form. After all, at the end of a piece of music, it's the listerner's personal feeling that will truly reflect their opinion.

Alex started his formal music education in the fourth grade where he first played trumpet in elementary school. After dabbliing with the piano and drums, he finally settled on bass just before his 20th birthday, while attending the University of New Hampshire. In less than two years, he earned a spot on the bass chair for the UNH Orchestra.

About Me

I'm a songwriter, composer, musician, performer, and educator.

I graduated from ASU in 2005 with an emphasis on jazz guitar. Then I lived in Brazil for a little bit and fell in love with samba, bossa nova, mpb, and chorro. I went back to Arizona for 2 years then had the rare opportunity to teach in Bermuda. While there I conducted a jazz camp, recorded a jazz duo album, played 'The Full Monty' musical, and taught private lessons and group lessons at the high school. Since moving to NYC in early 2009 I've been playing out at several clubs and bars with a wide variety of groups. I also perform every summer with a street theatre group that plays in all the parks around the city.

As a guitarist I've shared the stage with such jazz greats as Joey DeFrancesco, Scott Wendholt, Rich Perry, Sam Pilafian, Gunther Schuller, Mike Crotty, Mike Kouker, Papa John DeFrancesco, Regina Carter, Quincy Davis, and several others. About Me

At age six, I enrolled at the Brooklyn College Preparatory Center for the Performing Arts for piano lessons. In the early 1990's, hearing classical music performed by great artists such as the pianist Vladimir Horowitz on the former radio station 104 WNCN made an unforgettable impression on me and inspired a long-term passion for music. My taste for jazz also developed during this period, since 101.9 was another station familiar to my household. I accompanied the Stuyvesant High School choir until my graduation in 2000. In January of that year, I performed the third movement of the Piano Concerto No. 2 by Sergei Rachmaninoff with the school's symphony orchestra. The then-leader of the Stuyvesant Parents Association praised this event as an "extraordinary performance" in an issue of the PA newsletter. Hi there,

Let me introduce myself, my name is Thomas a.k.a. Casual-T, and I'm a pretty alright kinda guy :) I am a professional drummer and have been teaching drums for a good many years now. I also write music for television and movies. Over the years I have had students of all shapes and sizes, my youngest student was about 5 years old, and my oldest was in his late 50's. I have a classical educational background, but I'm mainly performing in musical theater and with club date bands in and around New York City these days.

What I'm looking for in a student is first and foremost enthusiasm. As long as you are interested in learning I am interested in teaching you. So if you are looking for an experienced teacher who is fun as well as informative, and who has been an active professional in the music business for many years, call me and we'll talk.
