   Peter plays and teaches : Drumset, congas, djembe, & and steel pan.He is from Chicago, Illinois. He began playing the drums at age 12 in Rock bands & Middle School Jazz Band, He studied drums with Bob Devita, Scott Gorsuch, Jack Brand & Bun E. Carlos until age 17 when he moved to Boston, Ma to continue his studies at Berklee College of Music.

   At Berklee Peter studied Drums and music with a wide variety of drummers and musicians including; Casey Shurell, Joe Hunt, Jamey Hadadd, Skip Haden, Victor Mendoza, Nancy Zeltzman, Dave Hollander, Ed Tomasi, Larry Finn, and Barry Ries. He also took classes in Ear Training, Harmony and Counterpoint, Arranging, Improvisation techniques, Music history, Acoustics, Music production, Engineering, Mallet Percussion, Upright Bass, and played with several bands in the Greater New England area.

  Peter is currently performing with Tchaka (haitian band),Tony Cedras duo,Bakithi Kumalo jazz trio, Guiliame trio, Manze Dayilla,& his own band called Drums & Percussion. He also plays percussion for dance classes and with DJ's.

I teach based on what the student wants to accomplish. I use music listening to develop my students ears for music, in addition to written music and technical exercises.
