Hello! I have been teaching the flute and piccolo for the past nine years. My goal as a teacher is not only to help my students reach their musical goals, but also to instill a lifelong love of music.

My approach to teaching is based on students goals and needs. I try to make lessons as engaging and interactive of possible, and use technology whenever possible to assist in the learning process.

I am looking forward to meeting you!!!

About Nikki

Hello there! For the past nine years I have taught students of all ages and ability. In addition to maintaining a private studio, I have also taught at the college level as a graduate teaching assistant.

While enrolled in flute lessons, students will receive instruction on developing tone, technique and musicality on the flute as well as focus on proper breathing and posture. In addition to being coached on practicing techniques, problem solving and setting and achieving realistic goals, students will learn how to constructively and positively assess their own playing. This creates a sense of ownership that allows the student to blossom into a mature musician and lifelong lover of music. This is my primary goal and purpose as a teacher.

I am looking forward to meeting you and ...

Eugene P. Purchase, NY

Each lesson starts with technical warm-ups. Once the student is fully warmed-up, we then move on to repertoire. Within the repertoire, technique is added with my guidance. Certain repertoire may require certain technical attention which will always be addressed. I give demonstrations whenever needed. It is my job to make sure the student can view a live demonstration and receive guidance to apply the same aspects to their music making. Students shall learn through experiential, feeling and muscle memory.

Nicholas has been a colleague of mine for seven years now and I have had the pleasure of watching him grow into an amazing teacher and performer. Nicholas has perfected his skills as a player while also working diligently to inspire those around him to reach new heights. He has helped me perfect my skills as a clarinetist many times and is always around to lend his expertise in all areas of music. Nicholas makes his lessons not only informative but also fun and inspiring. Working with Nicholas has been a pleasure and honor and as a teacher he would be an asset to any student.
