Hello! I have been teaching the flute and piccolo for the past nine years. My goal as a teacher is not only to help my students reach their musical goals, but also to instill a lifelong love of music.
My approach to teaching is based on students goals and needs. I try to make lessons as engaging and interactive of possible, and use technology whenever possible to assist in the learning process.
I am looking forward to meeting you!!!
Hello there! For the past nine years I have taught students of all ages and ability. In addition to maintaining a private studio, I have also taught at the college level as a graduate teaching assistant.
While enrolled in flute lessons, students will receive instruction on developing tone, technique and musicality on the flute as well as focus on proper breathing and posture. In addition to being coached on practicing techniques, problem solving and setting and achieving realistic goals, students will learn how to constructively and positively assess their own playing. This creates a sense of ownership that allows the student to blossom into a mature musician and lifelong lover of music. This is my primary goal and purpose as a teacher.
I am looking forward to meeting you and ...

Lessons in living room with stereo; teacher has own instruments, student needs their own

From Jazz to Brazilian, Cuban, Puerto Rican, world music from just about everywhere.
Each lesson starts with technical warm-ups. Once the student is fully warmed-up, we then move on to repertoire. Within the repertoire, technique is added with my guidance. Certain repertoire may require certain technical attention which will always be addressed. I give demonstrations whenever needed. It is my job to make sure the student can view a live demonstration and receive guidance to apply the same aspects to their music making. Students shall learn through experiential, feeling and muscle memory.
