Ben grew up with the radio on, all day, every day. It's no wonder that he went on to become a professional musician! After being awarded music scholarships to college in Philadelphia, Ben decided to devote all of his attention on playing, and joined the thriving East-coast jazz scene as a bass player. After performing hundreds of shows, going on tour, and recording on several albums, he moved to Boulder Colorado to pursue his other love - contemplative psychology. Ben now combines his love and experience of music with his knowledge of psychology and personal meditation practice, allowing him to create a unique, personal, and effective relationship with his students.

I am a multi-instrumentalist currently finishing my Music BA in Voice at CU Boulder. I have played in several different ensembles in the Boulder area on a variety of instuments including Ukelele, Guitar, Bass, Piano, Voice and Drums. I grew up partly in Hawaii and have a love for island music, Reggae, African Highlife, Jazz and Funk. My classical training in combination with my experience as a song writer and band leader gives me a uniquely well-rounded teaching style. My goal is to inspire students to use music as a platform for learning important skills such as diligent practice, cognitive flexibilty, and creative expression.

Hi! I'm Scott, and I'm a native of this great State of Colorado! I fell in love with the drums in 6th grade, and have never looked back! I too, began by taking private lessons, having been fortunate to be able to study under one of the best performers and private teachers in the Rocky Mountain West at the time.

Beginning private instruction in Elementary School, I continued for 7 years even while embarking on a performance career in high school. Since then I've both performed and recorded a wide variety of styles including most forms of rock, country, jazz, pop, Gospel, symphonic/orchestral styles, and concert and marching band styles. I've also been fortunate to be able to teach many other students over these last 29 years of my career, and watch them achieve their own goals in drumming.

I have been a professional musician and teacher all my adult life. Music is my passion and has always been how I make a living. I teach piano/keyboards, guitar, voice, bass and ukelele. I studied classical piano at SUNY at Buffalo and I initially learned to play guitar and sing on my own. Years later I studied voice and guitar with great professional instructors. I am familiar with different ways of learning music: from very structured and traditional methods (that we use in classical music) to more improvisational and "by ear" approaches as we often do in popular music. This helps me tailor my music teaching specifically to each student based on his/her musical preferences, abilities and learning style. I can teach all styles of music including: Pop, Rock, Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Jazz, many different Latin styles including Salsa, Bolero and Bossa Nova.

Hi! If you want to learn how to play drums just like your drum heroes, then let me help you! Playing the drums takes some practice, but it's so much fun! I am here to show you how to hear a song, pick out the drum parts, and then work on coordinating your hands and feet until you can play the song through like a pro!
We will also work on soloing, so when you sit down at the drums, you'll be able to come up with cool drum parts on your own!

I'm Tiffany. Ive been teaching guitar for 10 years now. I encourage students to find their creativity and voice in music. I went to Front Range for Music for 2 years. I have taught students in seattle and traveled many miles to gain teaching experience with different cultures and age groups.

I've been playing piano since I was 6 yrs. old, and guitar and organ since I was 13. I've been able to use music in so many ways, and that is the opportunity I want for my students. From singing in school and church choirs, to accompanying and directing them, I've had a lot of enjoyable experiences. I've had the fun of performing solo and with bands, and have been teaching music for about 25 yrs, both privately and in the schools. My BA is in music education and my Masters is in individual performance. I've taught K-Jr College music classes in general music, chorus, piano, guitar, and theory. I think my favorite form of teaching is still one-on-one lessons. Working with one student allows me to adjust my teaching to their particular learning style and needs.

Although a relatively late bloomer, Nicholas’ passion in piano performance and music composition erupted shortly after introduction. After starting piano performance at age 12 and music composition at age 14, he shortly graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2012 with a Music Composition/Theory degree, and has composed nearly 2.5 hours of Symphonies, Concertos, Soundtracks, Jazz Combos, Woodwind Ensembles, Choral works, World musics, and other forms of Postmodernism.

As a licensed teacher with experience teaching pretty much every age and skill level of students, across a wide variety of subjects, I have developed a program and an approach that gets students learning fast -- and enjoying it! Although I have taken several college classes in music -- everything from music theory to Garage Band (music software) -- most of my education as a musician and a music teacher has come from real-life musicians! My name is Sue (Ms Sue). I am thrilled to be an educator in the Take Lessons. I have been involved with music and music programs since I can remember, learning how to read music when I was six in a private band. I received by BA in Music Education K-12, choral and instrumental from Colorado State University. I taught at Prairie Middle School in Cherry Creek for three years. I raised and home schooled my four children. I have a Masters in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I truly enjoy sharing my passion for music with children and am looking forward to a rewarding time of discovery, of exploration, of excitement, of continual growth in awareness, and of experiencing the thrill of accomplishment with your child and you!
