About Me

I believe in the power of music to change lives and have made it my life mission to study music and help others learn this power. As a teacher, I strive to help you reach your goals and to provide you with the tools necessary to continue learning, even outside of our lessons.

As a performer, I enjoy collaborating with a variety of ensembles and in many different genres; much of my work is improvisation. I began learning classical flute technique under the tutelage of Heidi Baxter when I was very young and performed in a number of chamber ensembles, bands, and flute choirs throughout high school. In 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Goucher College where I continued to study classical flute technique under David Lavorgna as well as music theory, history, musicianship, and Irish Flute.

My career as a Baker and Pastry Chef began over 5 years ago at a small specialty foods store in my home town of Vermont. I worked professionally for a number of years and still bake specialty cakes, breads, and desserts on a routine basis. I excel at all types of breads, quick breads, and pastries, as well as cake decoration.

*** Lesson Details ***
I tailor each lesson plan to the individual. Factors I take into consideration include: Learning style, subject matter, level of expertise, the student's goals, and lesson length.
