The Best Venues for Drummers in Boston

By Chris H. - Boston Drums Teacher

My name is Chris and I’m a freelance drummer and private teacher of drum lessons in Boston. I have been involved in the Boston music scene for about five years and I’m happy to say that live music in this city continues to get better every year! One of my favorite places to see groups is at the Middle East in Cambridge. This is a unique venue because there are three different rooms to see bands perform. All three rooms have live acts seven days a week, so you can attend any night and expect to be amazed by at least one of the groups!

Another venue I really enjoy is Wallys’s Café in Boston, which offers varying types of music every night of the week. This is a very small and intimate club that I guarantee will get you dancing as soon as you enter the door. Monday kicks the week off with some Blues, while Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are influenced by R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop. Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for some of the best jazz you will ever encounter in the Boston area. Sundays turn into a jam session where you will see talented local musicians collaborating on all types of music. Whether you’re a pro or have just started taking drum lessons in Boston, you will surely appreciate the talent on display here!

While these are two of my favorite places to go see live music, Boston has no shortage of wonderful venues full of talented musicians. The Brighton Music Hall is another great venue that just opened in Allston, and the House of Blues in downtown Boston that opened last year is always a favorite for music lovers. If you are taking drum lessons in Boston you will certainly be inspired after watching the talented performers at these venues. Now all you have to do is find some time to get out there and experience some of these spectacular venues - I promise they won’t disappoint!
