About Allison

I began playing the violin in 3rd grade in my school general music class and instantly fell in love with it. I begged my mom for private lessons and after a year, she finally caved in. By my freshman year in high school, I had decided that I wanted to major in violin performance in college and make a career out of being a classical violinist.
I went on to earn my Bachelor of Music in violin performance from State University of New York at Purchase. During my freshman year, I began teaching private violin and viola lessons at the Westport Music Center in Connecticut. I quickly realized that teaching is very fulfilling and that I loved sharing my passion and knowledge of the violin with others. While in undergrad, I also won my first job in a part time professional orchestra, the ...

This teacher is outstanding.

I would think that Allison would be good with any age and capability, but my daughter is 7 and just beginning. Allison is a perfect teacher. She makes good use of every minute, yet is fun and pleasant. She constantly gives positive reinforcement. My daughter really likes her and so do I!

Allison is very patient and perceptive when teaching. She is great at observing and correcting my mistakes. She gives great advice on how to make my playing better. Most of all, she is a nice and competent teacher. I plan to continue my lessons with her in the future.

I am an adult learner and wanted a teacher that did not treat me like a child. Erin is a great teacher and treats me like an adult. She helps me to attain my goals and works at my pace. She encourages me especially when I don't think I can do a particular piece or perform at a recital. I know she can take me through to any level I want to accomplish on the violin.

Erin is an awesome teacher. Jazmin, my daughter, has been playing cello for almost 2 years and was having a rough time, losing interest and motivation.Erin was of tremendous help. She immediately connected with my daughter, who needed a little push to keep going after we moved to a rural area and she left her friends behind, got her motivated again to start playing and now she is back at school where she will be part of the orchestra once again. Thank you very much for all your help,Erin!
Diane G. Bonsall, CA

I have been teaching the violin to children and adults for 8 years and teach methods that are appropriate to their level, whether they are beginners or have been playing for a while. I teach from the concept of Musicianship: including teaching correct techniques for playing, using theory books and violin method books that are creative and easy to follow. I teach note-reading as well as aural learning because a student needs both music notation and ear training to gain the best possible perspective on learning this instrument.
My husband and I have a violin shop where we rent, sell, service and restore violins and bows in North County, San Diego. Once you schedule lessons with me you can contact me for details on renting a violin (fiddle) for yourself or your child. The violins we rent and sell are professionally set up by my husband who is a trained luthier. We also have all the necessary accessories you will need such as rosin, shoulder rests, tuners, various chin rests to ...

About Diane

I love to teach the violin and fiddle. I really enjoy working with adult beginners to help them discover music. You are never too old to learn! My specialty is working with young children and youth to establish a wonderful foundation for the student. I work to incorporate, into the lessons, a strong sense of musicianship with both the violin and fiddle. I am a structured teacher, one that is helpful, friendly and fun to work with. In working with young children, I encourage the parent to be involved with the lessons...to partnership, so that the child will progress and have an enjoyable experience. I use a modern approach in selecting books for each student.. books that inspire and encourage the student at his/her skill level and age. Having taught several instruments during the ...

Great Violin Lessons

Diane is a great Teacher.
We are very pleased that she is teaching our young daughter (12) to play the Violin. At the beginning we were a little bit nervous since this was the first time for my daughter to be in contact with music and it turned out to be great.
Diane has been very supportive, always finding better ways to reinforce the lessons and making sure her students understand every practice objective. She is patience, very flexible and she always emphasizes the importance of having fun while one learns to play an instrument. She works hard to prepare and keep a good record of every single lesson.
We are excited, but most important, our daughter is enjoying learning to play the violin. Thanks Diane!

Looking forward to a new journey

Diane has been a Godsend! She is very patient and kind-hearted. She explains things in a way that is easy to understand; for a beginner this is very important. She teaches about the instrument and its history, as well as the music that comes from it - classical violin as well as the fiddle -- just what I was looking for. She is always encouraging, upbeat and willing to go the extra mile for those less knowledgable than herself. A wonderful teacher for both young and adult students.

Anna treats you like family. She's one of the sweetest people I've met in my life and I'm so glad I started taking lessons with her. Whenever I'm down, she just makes me feel so much better and she is so patient with me and my learning. I know it's difficult teaching a beginner, so it really means a lot when she takes the time to demonstrate and be patient with me when I need it the most.

With one word "violin" there arises an image of an excellent and brilliant musician who puts his dreams up into voice of a human heart. Though practicing violin as well as viola takes alot of patience it is worth it!

Excellent teacher. I had a teenager who was loosing interest in playing the violin. Since having George as an instructor she has gained interest and practices her violin on her own. She has also drastically shown improvement by playing in all the positions and playing very difficult music to prepare her to play in an orchestra. George is very patient. He makes the individual fall in love him not only the instrument but with music in general. I feel very lucky to have found him. He is a wonderful musician.

I began playing at the age of seven, and continue to study and improve my technique. I am very passionate about sharing musical education with others, and understand that every student learns at their own pace. By combining Suzuki and Traditional methods, I tailor every lesson to each student's needs.

About Lara

I began playing violin 18 years ago and love sharing musical education with others. I continue to study privately and currently perform with a college symphony orchestra. I have been Teaching certified through the Suzuki Method and combine it with traditional methods to best accommodate every student. Normally lessons are 30 minutes long and are held at my in-home studio. Travel to your home can be discussed.

My goal is to make learning to play violin a fun and fulfilling part of you or your child's life!
