How to Roll Your R's

Having trouble rolling your R’s in Spanish? You’re not alone! Check out this helpful video for tips from TakeLessons teacher Sheila S

As an opera singer and voice teacher, it’s my job to know how to pronounce all languages and to be able to teach how to properly pronounce them.

If you’re learning how to speak Spanish, you’ll also need to learn how to roll your R‘s. This can be a challenge to some American students, because we produce our R sound very differently in English.

I get plenty of students who say “I just can’t roll my R’s.” Take heart! There’s a way to learn how to roll your R’s, and I’m going to show you how. With some practice, you’ll be saying perro, radio, and por favor like a pro.

If it doesn’t happen for you right away, keep at it! I also recommend lots of listening to native Spanish speakers. Happy practicing!
