I would use this scholarship towards accomplishing the goal of earning a Bachelor degree, at Davis college in New York, in counseling. After earning my bachelors, I will look for internship programs. The work area I want to enter into is to encourage, guide, love, and counsel children in the foster system. I want to help them be mentally stable in a very unstable life where they never know how long they will be anywhere, if they will ever have a family to care about them, and where their lack of trust of people grows daily. I want to be prepared and mentored on how to take care of these kids in my personal life as I would love to foster and adopt. I could focus more on helping those in my personal life needing help, and helping pay for others’ education in the future hopefully. I will be able to focus more on the teens who need my full focus and attention on their lives and troubles. They do not want to talk to people as it is, to talk to someone who may not seem to care about them as much as something else just increases their lack of trust and will close them up more. I want to change their world, by showing them love that maybe they have not had for a long time.
