If I could make a living doing what I love, I would plan weddings. I love working with people, being organized, attending events, and bridal fashion. A career in wedding planning combines all of my passions! I think that people look back on their wedding day as one of the best days of their life because the wedding unites both sides of the family and brings people together, and I want to help make that happen. A fantastic wedding will forever bring happy memories to the couples and their families.
I’ve done my research to learn how to become a wedding planner; I’ve read books and articles, watched countless bridal TV shows, and read-up on careers in the bridal industry. I’m currently interning at Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC, and will learn the in-and-outs of Bridal Fashion. During the spring semester, I plan to get another internship working with an already established wedding planner until I graduate in May 2015. After graduation, I hope to start working for either a bridal company or a wedding planning company and gain more real-world experience. In a few years, I’ll hopefully have enough experience, resources, and connections to start my own wedding planning business. By setting up a time line and creating goals for myself, I’ve been motivated to accomplish those goals and am on track thus far. I feel very fortunate to have the internship I have currently, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
