What will you be in the future?” This is the question that causes so much wonder. Near the end of my high school career I found an occupation that won my interest above all else. Although my career choice may seem unconventional I aspire to go into the field of Sex Therapy. There are serious issues dealing with sex that must be discussed; sex isn’t “taboo”. I will help anyone who has been hurt and is fearful, or anyone who is confused in a society that tries to control them. I believe I could change the way people think of sex, and they could become more open-minded. Sex is the basis of all human life, and is one of the most significant acts of emotion. People need to know they shouldn’t feel ashamed of embracing their sexuality and feeling liberated.
Therapy will take copious years of schooling, but I’m ready to invest myself. I’ve started my college career by focusing on Psychology, as I progress I will move into Social Work for a Master’s degree. Becoming a therapist takes rigorous hours of training and prepping before stepping into the real world of therapy. My career choice is a pricey and lengthy process, but I’ve never felt so sure about what I wanted for my future. People may question the legitimacy of my career choice, but I will show them a perspective they haven’t considered before. I’ve found something to be passionate about, and I am determined to achieve my goal.
