My dream job would actually include research and children-two things that most people try to avoid. I, however, would love to learn about children on a deeper level. Sure, working with kids in a child care center is a learning opportunity. I often find myself observing their odd behavior and wondering what’s going through their minds. Being able to really devote my time to research, though, would be amazing. We learn new things about our children every day-how they think, how they learn. Being able to understand how our children ‘work’ would change everything: educational systems, family services, even marketing! I am currently earning my BS degree in Child Studies, and I hope to one day earn my masters in Child Development or something similar. After that, I would hope to work with new mothers in an attempt to observe children on a personal level-much like Piaget or Bandura did. A world without children wouldn’t be a great place to live; I think we would have bigger problems on our hands. Children are the future; everyone says it, but it’s time that I take action on it.
