I have always had a passion for reading. If given the choice, I would just curl up in a comfy chair with a huge stack of books to while away the hours. I usually just read fiction, mostly fantasy or action, but I appreciate the occasional non-fiction novel. To be paid to read books, like a book critic, would be a real treat. I would love to get money just for reading a book and giving my opinion on it. Of course, it is not easy to become a book critic. First of all, I would need some degree in one of the various English departments. Although these majors tend to have a lot of reading, they also come with a lot of writing, of which I am not particularly fond. However, I believe that I am able to obtain a degree in English. The next step would be to gain membership as a book critic, usually by writing a book or blog. This part would be really challenging due to my dislike of writing. Nonetheless, the hardest part for me would be to become widely known by other authors for them to let me review their books. It takes me a long time for me to become friends with someone, so getting that recognition for others will certainly be a challenge for me. But in the end, I will be living out a dream for which I could never ask more.
