If I could do what I love most, I would own and operate my own fitness gym. As a child I was heavily involved in sports. Towards the end of high school I joined the power-lifting team and fell in love with lifting weights. As I continue to exercise, I have spread my interests from just lifting to other aspects as well for overall fitness: like running, swimming, biking, etc. To be able to run my own gym would give me the opportunity to help others, young and old, fall in love with physical health as much as I have. I feel like I am on the right path to making this dream a reality. As of now, I am an Exercise Science major with a specialization as a health fitness instructor. The first goal I would need to meet is finishing my degree. My next goal would be becoming a personal trainer, so I could learn how a gym operates and gain in field experience. Next I would earn an associate’s degree in business, so that I would not only be capable of performing the fitness side of the job, but be able to manage my gym financially as well. I know owning a gym is not going to be something that changes the entire world, but to be able to change the world of the people in my community and help them live happier, healthier lives would be what I would love the most.
