If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be to help kids accomplish their goals and to be some kind of mentor for them to trust and come to in times of need. I know that some kids go through rough situations and feel like they have nobody to turn to for help. Every person makes a difference, so if I helped just one child a day, I feel that this would impact the world by saving more children from feeling lost and withdrawn from the world. If I could be their voice of reason, they would have someone to vent to or just discuss problems with, and that would lift a huge weight off of their shoulders.
In order to make this dream become my reality, I first plan to get my bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Once I teach for two to three years, I will go back to college and get a degree in counseling. Then, once I receive that, I plan to become a school counselor. However, I do not plan on just sitting back and waiting for children to open up to me like most counselors do. I plan to make a huge impact on the school that I work at by coming up with ideas that help all children interact together and hopefully bring them closer together. I plan to be that voice of reason and that person that will help a child no matter what situation lies ahead.
