Most people say that when your doing the thing you love most, you never work a day in your life. I believe that to be the truth. Sadly, most people choose a job for the money rather than the interest or the enjoyment of the job. I’m one of the few choosing a field that I enjoy where it’s not only about the paycheck at the end of the night.
One of my dreams is that I want to help people. I want to make a change in the world, even if it’s something small. My dream job is to become a nurse. Nursing is a very unappreciated job, but it’s something that can really make the difference in a patients life. That alone, to me, can change the world.
If a patient is very ill, in pain, and scared; the last thing they need is having someone taking care of them who just doesn’t care or just does their job and gets out. If I can be that person to brighten their day or make them feel safe and happy, I have accomplished my goal. I want to be that change, that person to really connect and help their patients not only physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Nursing is my way of making a change in the world. It’s not a huge amazingly historic change, but it’s one that can make a huge difference to a single person in need. This exactly is why nursing is my dream job.
