Growing up the oldest child of four has taught me many things: how to love, forgive, display patience, and help others in great need. My dream job is to carry these valuable lessons into the world as a nurse. Relying on the care of others truly tests perspective. The burdens of sickness, injury, or disease can weigh on the souls of the afflicted. One’s world can easily become ruled by misery and negative thinking. My dream is to provide a beacon to these people: to empower through empathy, love, and genuine compassion. I am only one man, but I will improve the world by helping people everyday when they are most vulnerable. I hope to bring positive change to the core of the sick, weary, and diseased. Obtaining such an important position will be incredibly difficult. Returning as an adult student, I must work to support myself while attending school full time. My goals to ensure success involve applying discipline and prioritization to my studies as well as my personal life. Each test, each landmark, will provide encouragement to the goal of living my dream. I strive for mediocracy. I wish not for high esteem, great wealth, or status, but the opportunity to make small influences that may lead to making the world a better place. Support from scholarships like those from TakeLessons is the only way that I can afford to pursue my dreams and make the impact I so desire. Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Nathaniel Berry.
