Having a career is one thing. Having a career that you love doing is another. I currently volunteer at Think Ten Media Group where I have raised funds needed through donations made from cancer bracelets that were made for me when I was going through cancer and founded Spotlight On Hope Film Camp, a film program that is freely held for cancer patients where they learn the ins and outs of the film making process, create and edit films based on their own ideas and have a grand premiere screening at the end. My ultimate goal is making a difference in peoples lives. Getting the funds needed to create a meaningful project and to help continue the programs success is where my effort lies. I am a recipient for a scholarship offered by the Donald A. Strauss Foundation that will award $10,000 to keep my project going. Through my efforts and my utmost belief in Spotlight On Hope Film Camp, the hope is that more exposure will shed light on the camp, more donors will seek to help out and that eventually it will become a non-profit organization. I hope to become manager of Spotlight On Hope Film Camp and expand the program by having additional activities within the camp, such as guided tours at Universal Studios or Nickelodeon and creating partnerships with greater film companies and cancer patient organizations and camps.
