The joy you see on people’s faces when you helped them with difficult accomplishments is priceless. As a future occupational therapist, I hope to help those who seek to the ability to perform simple tasks again. Occupational therapist are like the icing on the cake. The cake is great before the icing, but we add to the already tasty cake. Occupational therapists help to restore muscles. We build confidence for our patients. We sometimes give them their life back. We allow fathers to run after their children again, mothers teaching their kids how to cook and grandparents teaching their grandchildren how to drive. These are all important thing some people miss out on. We allow for memories to be built and bonds to become closer.
In order to become an occupational therapist. I must obtain my masters degree. In addition, I hope to volunteer at my local hospital in order to learn more about this rewarding field. My bachelors degree will be in Applied Health and my masters in Occupational Therapy. In order to achieve my goals I must work hard in school. I need to have a high Gpa to be competitive. This means no procrastination on school work and only turning in what I feel is my absolute best. This scholarship would be beneficial to accomplishing my goals and becoming an Occupational Therapist and creating memories for many people.
