If I could do anything in the world for the rest of my life, it would be to coach football. I love the game of football, been around it practically my whole life. I have seen firsthand the positive effects it can have on one’s life, including my own. Football teaches you so many life lessons and values, such as; character, dedication, hard work, and perseverance. If you are really lucky, your team becomes your family. I have been a coach since I was nineteen, there is no better feeling than trying to teach that, and your team truly absorbing the values you try to pass along. Since my Freshman Year of high school at the age of fourteen, I have seen several different people turn their lives around because of this game. I have seen people with rough lives, make something of their self, more than their critics ever envisioned of them being able to accomplish. Those same people have gone on to become prominent and outstanding members in society. It may have been a different story for some of them, had they not strapped up, and learned from the personal journey football had to offer each individual. Football is about so much more than scores, wins, and losses. It is about what you learn on the field, which will help you achieve victory in life, off the field. For me to be able to assist them in this process is an indescribable blessing.
