The profession of pharmacy is appealing to me for many reasons, some of which include my passion for chemistry and biology, and my desire to help those around me. I fell in love with the study of chemistry my sophomore year in high school. I love to learn how different elements and compounds react with each other to create new chemicals. Since then, my passion for the science has only grown stronger as I continue to learn more about the study of chemistry. I have also found that I have a passion for biology through my A.P. biology course. I particularly enjoy learning about how various chemicals and compounds work throughout the body and how they may help or hinder biological processes. In addition to my love for the sciences, I also enjoy helping those in my community. I perform various forms of volunteer work such as tutoring students, volunteering time at a local children’s shelter, and going on many mission trips through the church I attend. The study of pharmacy extensively uses the sciences of chemistry and biology to provide medications for those who are in need. Pharmacy is very appealing to me due to the fact that it uses both of the sciences I have acquired a passion for and helps those in the community on a daily basis.
