My dream is to become a registered nurse and change the world by helping families with children with disabilities. The families of these children need respite and the children need a safe place to give their parents a much needed break. A place that is a home away from home. I work for a respite care center and feel that I am in the beginning of learning what it feels like to make a difference in my community. We take care of children with disabilities and they get to experience a fun loving place and their parents get a weekend of relaxation that they need. I plan to become a nurse and find a way to spread the need for respite so that we can really help families with children with disabilities and by providing the children with a safe environment that is not a hospital. Children with special needs are a gift to the world.
