I work at Chick-fil-A where we love to serve, and we are family. I love my job because, even though it’s a part-time job while I go to school, I get to do one of the things I love most. If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would involve a lot of serving and teaching; it would show the world that life is not about me, but about pleasing God, and serving Him obeying His commandment to love Him and our neighbor as myself.
I love making people’s day by serving them. At Chick-fil-A we focus on serving guest; we try to go beyond what our job description entails because we want to make their day. I love making people’s day: by making a coworker a cake if they have to work on their birthday, by helping classmates with homework, by helping a friend with their kids, by buying someone lunch or dinner just because. There are many ways in which I try to serve people.
Teaching is something I would also love to keep doing. I believe teaching is in my DNA; my parents are both teachers, two of my aunts are teachers, and my mom’s mom was also a teacher. I teach 3rd grade Sunday School at my church. I’ve taught at Vacation Bible School, I’ve taught preschool and I’ve tutored Algebra. I want to keep teaching; but most of all I want to teach people about the love of Christ and the grace He offers.
