Books are my passion. In a perfect world everyone would be able to read, everyone would have access to, allowing all the ability to step into the alternate wondrous worlds books offer.
There are many things I could do where I could take my love of books and turn it into a career. I could become a writer or an editor. My goal is to become a little bit of both.
I plan to major in business and minor in English, then train to become a book editor. I really want to be signed on as an editor at HarperCollins Publishers. I’ll have to start off as an intern, which I aim to start in eighteen months. I will have to start off small, mostly ghostwriting but it’s a step towards my dream.
I want to become an editor because I believe the written words is one of the most powerful weapons we have. I think imagination should know no bounds, by pushing the boundaries of the mind, challenging what we believe to be possible that is how we accomplish the incredible.
I plan to major in business because I would also like to set up a non-profit organization to ensure that those around the world have access to literature. It would require partnering with all kinds of international writers and publishers, but with a whole lot of collaboration this can happen. I will be a facilitator of the spread of culture and knowledge. This undertaking will become reality.
