The words fly off of the page, enveloping me. Suddenly, they tug harshly, pulling me in. I’m no longer just writing words on a page. Without even realizing it, I become the characters of the story. I see everything through their eyes, feel their emotions, and understand their decisions.
Being a writer allows me to experience the world through numerous lives, each one different from one another. I’ve lived the life of a hopeless, heartbroken girl, although I haven’t had a single relationship in my life. Sometimes, I’m even fighting off evil villains who want to take over the world. Because of my writing, I’m given the opportunity to explore the different viewpoints of all kinds of people.
Living the lives of those characters has made me a better person. I’m never too quick to judge because I’ve learned that there’s always more to someone’s appearance and actions. Each person has a story behind him or her. I’ve come to realize that people are just like books, waiting to be opened, read, and paid attention to.
Many people find themselves within the spaces of each word in a story. There are still people out there searching for the story that represents who they really are. I want my words to resonate within the lives of people. I strive to make people feel like they are not alone in this world. Maybe, just maybe, my stories could provide them with the escape and understanding they need.
