When I grow up….
I always told my mom, “When I grow up I want to be a nurse.” My mom was a nurse and I loved the story she told about her job. I was accepted into the Nursing program in January 2014. I am about to start my second semester and can’t wait. I currently work in the Newborn intensive care unit and plan on working here when I graduate as a nurse. It is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. We get to see these tiny little babies fight and grow. It is hard to watch them suffer, but the strength that these babies have is amazing. They inspire you to try harder and not to give up. I want to use the knowledge I gain here in the US and use it in third world countries. I plan to go on medical missions to help educate and train other countries. One specifically is an orphanage in China. They care for infants with medical issues. These children have been given up by their parents because they can’t afford to care for them. Some of these children spend their entire life at the orphanage. I want to go care for them medically, but also give them love that they deserve. I can’t imagine not having parents to guide you and love you. I want to make some kind of difference in the lives of these children and of the men and women that care for them.
