If I lived in a world where everyone earned their living doing what they loved most and would also change the world for the better in the process, I would become a nurse. As a nurse, I would touch people’s lives and comfort them in their time of need. Nurses are there to carry out treatments, provide comfort measures, and insure quality care for their patients. Nurses have always been known to show compassion, concern, and love to their patients and families. In doing so, nurses change the lives of their patients for the better. They also help patients deal with illness, surgery, and death. Nurses also provide education to patients and family members in order for them to heal and lead healthier lives. To be a nurse is to be selfless and giving in order to help their patients feel better, have less pain, progress towards health, and learn to face fear and death. Knowing a patient has been helped is the reward every dedicated nurse looks and lives for as a healthcare professional. Being able to work as a nurse and take care of patients is what I am striving for and what I will love to do with my life. Florence Nightingale made a great difference in the world as a nurse and I also desire to make a difference in the lives of my patients and the field of nursing.
