I have had a passion for writing and journalism since I was in the fifth grade. I’ve always loved creating different worlds in my mind and making them come to life through my words. If I were to obtain a job where I was able to make money due to my creativity, I would be extremely happy. I would use my skills as a writer to bring joy to those who enjoy reading. Some people feel that reading a book is more beneficial than any other form of entertainment. Being an aspiring author, I would agree. With my writing, I would change peoples’ worlds. I would use my journalistic skills to tell stories that need to be heard.
In order to make my writing and journalistic dreams a reality, I have specific goals that I have to meet. I want to first obtain a quality college education. With the help of this scholarship, I would have the resources that I need in order to continue my college education. During my college experience, I would also work to obtain an internship with a journalism company. Inside this internship, are opportunities to hone my writing skills by learning from other journalists. After college, I plan to seek out a job in which I would be doing what I love to do. I plan to move out west, where I would work as a writer at a magazine company. This scholarship will help in my journey of becoming a writer and a journalist.
