“You learn something new everyday,” was instilled in me at such a young age, and has held true in my life. Whether it is academic or non academic, learning is a cyclic activity never to be stopped. Learning is something I have loved to do since I was three years old when I wanted so badly to learn to tie my shoe. Always pushing the envelope as to what I could learn, eating up every lesson. Chemistry is something I enjoy doing. When I began my journey sophomore year in regents chemistry I would be itching to learn more and more about this science that seemed to be all around me. Creating water which in my mind was impossible made me fall deeper in love with this science. The labs, the research is what pulled me in every time,
My passion for chemistry is in the hands on portion, the experiments. Which is why I am pursuing a career in pharmaceutical sciences. Becoming a pharmaceutical scientist is my dream job, with this career I will be able to change the world. While everyone is focused on finding the cure for cancer I will be trying to work with the smaller less involved medications to help people. While cancer is something that is very prevalent in life today I would shy away from it to show how other medications are essential in life even if it does not mean a huge pay day. Some of the goals I have set in place are maintaining a 3.5 or better in college. Then also using as many resources that I can to get my foot in the door of a research company. With this begin doing research over my college years and begin to make a name for myself. This way when I do finally get a job I will be a credible person. To change the world it only takes one person, I believe I am that person.
