Being black and queer is considered taboo in the Black Community. Many young gay black men are bashed on the street and called gay slurs (Including myself on several occasions) Trans* women of color have a hard time finding work because two things are against them, being black AND Trans*. The discrimination goes on and on. I would like to tell those stories in the form of a graphic novel. And as an illustration major I believe that this will help me to obtain this goal. I also have experience with telling my story and through my experience and artistic skills I hope to help and make my community a better place
