You love what you do AND you get paid for it! How many people get to say that? How many people get to do that all the while making a positive impact on the world? I still have to pinch myself, but very soon, I will join that population! Yes…ME! Me, who went back to college fifteen years after the first miserable attempt. Me, who did so right after a divorce, while raising two boys. (Who DOES that?) Me, who believed, and still does, that my purpose is so much greater than imaginable. Me, who will be a Registered Nurse in one year, helping Hospice patients transition as comfortably and peacefully as humanly possible. Me, who can hopefully provide some sort of comfort to their loved ones at that time. Me.
I may not have lived life traditionally, nor do I still, but I am exactly where I’m supposed to be. My epiphany came almost three years ago, and ever since, have been following the steps to fulfill my place in this world. After earning my ADN next year, I don’t plan on stopping. I have bigger ponds to make a ripple in. I will paddle on, pursuing my BSN, and possibly my Master’s. Changing the world starts with one person, one idea, one act of kindness, or one person who will simply listen. I try to live my life every single day according to this ideal, and through my continued education, hope to make a bigger splash in humanity.
