My passion is teaching. Not just teaching, but inspiring, encouraging, mentoring, and influencing young adults. They are the seeds that will one day sprout to become our future. I believe it is time to get out the hoses and start watering. So many children finish their high school careers without any inspiration or motivation not knowing their full potential. I plan to be the teacher that will open their eyes to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I want to instruct at the high school grade level because that is where the youth need the most encouragement. Those last four years of school are the hardest for a child because they are searching for who they are while trying to become an adult. It’s one of the hardest transitions in ones life. More than anything they need positive role models in their lives to help guide them through the tough stages. Yet many teachers choose to overlook a teenagers struggle because they rather just teach the subject they majored in. Teaching, I feel is more than focusing on a certain subject. It is a position where you take on the parent’s job for the majority of the day. I will gladly plan to accept the challenge. There cannot be enough stress on the fact that they are our future and if we adults wish to see a nation that continues to thrive we must invest in sowing good seeds.
