Many academic majors are interesting to me, but water is my passion. Drinking water, waste water,
and natural water resources. Where does it come from? What’s in it? Where does it go after it goes down the
drain? How is it recycled? These are the questions that I want to explore and improve upon when I go to work
everyday. I see people drinking bottles of water everywhere I go and sometimes refilling them from water coolers. It
makes me wonder. Where will our water come from as the world population grows? Will we have enough water or
will our drinking and bathing water quality suffer? Our bodies are composed mostly of water. Our world is
covered mostly in ocean water. Water is essential and must be protected from pollution to sustain life. Water
quality and water pollution concerns me and everyone else on the planet.
In order to pursue my professional passion, I am seeking an Associate in Arts degree in Engineering
(University of Central Florida). Once I obtain my A.A. degree at Valencia, I plan to transfer to UCF and obtain a
degree in Environmental Engineering. Courses of interest include math, any science related to my degree or
environmental study, and the occasional art elective or creative writing class for fun! Any extracurricular activities
undertaken while pursuing my degree would probably include research, water-related projects, or engineering
internships. Future volunteer efforts may include relief for any significant event or situation currently impacting the
the local community.
