The way I would change the world by doing what I love, is by teaching. I want to be a Middle School Mathematics teacher. The reason I chose Middle School is because I can help young children develop into young men and women that will strive to reach their goals, and leave their own mark on the world in some way. In math, the answer is either right or it is wrong; there are no gray areas. The answers may be black and white, but the ways to get there are endless! It is the journey that is important, not really the destination. Yes, it is great to get the correct answer, but it is the way one gets there. If one gets to their destination, but learned nothing along the way, then it was pointless, however, if they decided to take their time and learn something along the way, then will have another way to solve problems. I plan on teaching my students this philosophy, not only to apply in the classroom, but in their everyday lives. I want to see my students learn and grow as individuals, and to do that I have to treat them as individuals, which means show them not one journey to get to their destination, but multiple ways so that they learn little shortcuts that will help them later on. That is how I would like to help the world; by helping the next generation.
