A great leader such as Michael Jordan once said, “If you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” I truly believe this to be true because I have found my calling in this world and I am working towards it starting with my education. I am going to school because I want to either be a high school teacher or college teacher to help at risk youth and foster youth. I believe this is my perfect calling because I was once a at risk youth who was trying to find her way in the real world. I was given an opportunity most don’t, I was accepted into the Bridge Program at Modesto Junior College and from that point on my life took an amazing turn. My mentor believed in me and helped me find my calling in the world. The Bridge Program is a program for at risk youth who are trying to get out of their old ways and find a way out through education. Because of this program, I mentor new students coming in, and I help mentor them. I am studying to be a teacher, and I am taking the right steps like seeking mentors and observing teachers to learn from them. I feel like I can change the world if I can touch at least one life a day, then I feel like that is what I was put on this earth to be; A teacher.
