If I could earn a living doing anything, I would teach private guitar lessons and clinics. While that is a simple position, I love music endlessly and desire to share my excitement and knowledge of the instrument to anyone interested in learning to play music on the guitar in any style. Music has such a powerful impact on every area of life that I believe my educating students in the discipline, dedication, and practice required could be transferred to benefiting other academic areas of life. Learning an instrument can be a monumental challenge, and mastering one is a feat that few can boast, but the feeling of sitting down and making music, alone or for others, is an experience like no other. Helping others to experience this astounding feeling would be the ultimate gratification. To meet this goal, I need to continue practicing rigorously, as well as take note of how my personal teacher conveys his skills on a simpler level. I will need to focus on being very patient and understanding, as learning an instrument can be incredibly difficult, especially for people who are not naturally talented. I would also need to pursue an education in music education, as I want to be as qualified as possible to share the joy of playing guitar.
