A wise person once said “Choose a career you love and you will never work a day in your life.”

Each person is a unique and special individual, with his or her own personality and temperament. I have grown to appreciate each person that I encounter and their place in this world. As we all know some people on this earth have fewer opportunities than others. Many are faced with incredible hardships and persecutions that often prevent them from pursing their goals and passions. Every person deserves the right to chase after their dreams, and I want to help them.

My long term career goal is to work as a human rights advocate with the United Nations or other non-governmental organization. To achieve this goal, I am working toward completing my bachelor’s degree in political science, after that I plan to obtain my master’s degree. My current job position is preparing me for work with governmental agencies, policies and regulations.

Helping people has become my passion. When looking at the career options, I did not want to choose one that benefited only me, but one that could make a lasting impact on the world around me. I have been so fortunate in my life to have others that believed in me and helped me to pursue my dreams, and I hope that someday I might do the same thing for someone else.
