Nothing is quite so beautiful as literature. There are works of art so grand they might ruin you to the average sights of your world and enrapture you, however nothing will ravage you quite so beautifully as a book. Nothing can whisper in your ear and wrap around your soul as words can, nothing can tear you apart so completely or mend your broken edges like a book can. With this being said, I think it’s safe to say that my career of choice would have to do with literature- a book editor. Changing the world starts with changing a single person- yourself. I have developed into the person I am as a result of the books I have read, the paintings I have found painted in ink on paper, and so I am a culmination of fragments of author’s imaginations. Every person I interact with, every habit passed along amongst friends is a transference of these fragments, and are absorbed into the next person. Soon enough there are people far and wide, children who haven’t a clue as to how to read with the works of Hemingway in their minds, the breath of Poe in their lungs, and sincerity of Emily Dickinson flowing through their veins. Every characteristic we see in someone is a borrowed trait from someone before, who helped mold their life into what it is. So starting right here, with nothing more or less than myself, I am changing the world.
