If I could get paid doing something I love to do and make a living off it, I would be a mentor/counselor. I see many teenagers and people in their early twenties that have already gave up in life. Some have given up because they do not have a mother or a father figure in their life. Some had potential to make something out themselves but felt they had no purpose in life and dropped out of school. Others have given up because that their parents cannot afford to send them to college, so they become emotionally weak. This is when they start doing things to just fit such as drinking, smoking, and being peer pressured into having sex. Sadly for some people this has led to death as well. I grew up in a neighborhood where I was always around these types of events. It hurt me because I never had anyone there for me trying to give me advice about making the right choices. Out of 7 of my best friends, I am the only one who graduated and is going to college. I began to ask myself why my father or mother did not help me but still I could find no answer. That is when I decided that I wanted to be a mentor/counselor. I realize there are many people out in the world who face the same challenges I faced, so why not give them the opportunity that I wasn’t given. There Is Another Way
